Upon termination of an employee’s employment, the tech company must pay accrued wages and vacation upon termination.  If an employee quits without giving prior notice, the tech company employer must pay unpaid wages within 72 hours.  Under California Labor Code Section 206.5, the tech company employer cannot require that the terminating employee release of any claim or right on account of wages due, or to become due, or made as an advance on wages to be earned, unless payment of such wages has been made.
